Similar to how most young professionals meet nowadays, our team originally met online (Discord and Twitter).
While hacking away together at web3 hackathons, our founding team became fascinated with DAOs. We believe that DAOs have the potential to revolutionize human coordination.
DAOs allow individuals across the world to collaborate, allocate capital, and make decisions towards a common goal. It gives access for anyone to capture direct value from what they create, and helps align incentives across millions, if not billions, of people.
Our vision is to build the infrastructure to scale DAOโs and crypto native internet organizations. And we're backed by top Crypto investors like Kindred Ventures, Coinbase, Gusto and many DAOs/DAO operators to bring this vision to fruition.

At Utopia one of our deepest core tenants is empathy. Empathy is core to how we build our community-driven products, maintain a caring yet effective working culture, and what we believe will drive DAOs forward to being the prevailing system of how internet groups will organize. Weโre looking for a person to join us to help us further act on this sentiment.
Our current โsalesโ process has all been inbound and developed through effective word of mouth strategies by building trust with our community, and our customers over time. This is the first time weโll have an โoutboundโ sales process, and weโre looking for someone to spearhead this process - from ideation/strategy to implementation.

As the Business Development lead, you would be our missionary into new communities and projects; providing value, participating in governance, and supporting the amazing builders we love at any stage in their journey. As a team that builds with DAOโs, youโll be a participant in these communities.
Responsibilities
- Managing top of funnel onboarding
- Building out Utopiaโs monetization strategies
- Evaluating + implementing key partnerships
- Creating open source, community led sales processes on public forums
- Dig into retention mechanics, and to ensure current customers are satisfied with our current product
- Managing referall mechanisms + improving product led growth strategies
- Participate in our customers/communityโs governance as an active community member + representative.
- Able to have a thorough understanding of customer needs and channel customer feedbacks on company's products and services, to continuously improve the product features and customer satisfaction.
Need to Have
- Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in the financial services industry or crypto, preferably coming from an investment bank, traditional exchange, 3rd party vendor working with buy-side trading clients or experience at crypto exchanges, lenders, custodians or platform providers;
- Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-pace environment
- An active member of a DAO and crypto community
Nice to Have
- Basic technical + data experience (ie writing SQL queries, understanding how to debug customer challenges, etc)
