Job Description
About UX Research at WeTransfer
The UX research team is part of the Product Design team at WeTransfer. A small and resourceful team, interested in the weird and wonderful ways creative minds work, and how they shape the world around us. Understanding our users' workflow front to back, and exploring the experience from their point of view is at the heart of what we do. The user experience is essential for our brand and how we look ahead, imagining new ways to enable people to do their best work.
About the WeTransfer product team
The WeTransfer product team is responsible for building on the success of our widely beloved file delivery service used by hundreds of millions of people each year. Youโll be joining the team at an exciting stage of new development as we build the next evolution of our service. The Transfer product is the highest impact product for our business, and youโll help it stay true to its mantra โbeautifully obviousโ.
What you'll be working on:
You'll be at the heart of user-centered innovation. The Transfer crew needs to make decisions based on insights, rather than a gut feelingโand that is where you come in, sharing the current user experience, and helping teams validate new ideas, concepts, and features.
You'll build upon our collective understanding of our creative audience. Every moment spent exploring the user experience gets us closer to our users' worlds, worries, and wonders. Youโll help build frameworks that enable the company to see and act differently.
Youโll be part of a product eco-system that is user-centered by nature. Your work will be essential in highlighting the value of research and how to leverage the collected insights.
Youโll have plenty of room to grow. We value trust and autonomy, and our team will always have your back. With your work, youโll impact product roadmaps, feature direction, and design work.
What we value:
You are practical and hands-on. You donโt let methods define your impact. Instead, you plan your work strategically, by carefully listening and building up a solid understanding of the product, its audience, and the team(s).
You have a sharp mind with an eye for detail. You like digging, whether to get to the question behind the question of your stakeholders, or the problem behind the problem of our users. You like balancing research requests from the team with any insights gaps you spot to paint a complete picture.
You enjoy working in a growing and dynamic environment. We're a small team with big ambitions. Even though you are a researcher primarily, you donโt mind supporting the team with other tasks, such as research ops and advocacy.
And some more:
You have relevant UX research experience in a digital product organization where you have done usability tests, concept tests and/or unmoderated studies independently.
You're comfortable doing evaluative research, having done this many times in previous jobs, and you can run a study end-to-end independently.
You are excited to grow your experience in foundational research โyou have some experience doing in-depth interviews, leading focus groups, and understanding basic data analysis models such as affinity mapping.
You know how to get people on board. Youโre comfortable working in English and communicate clearly and to the point. You know how to make insights land with your stakeholders.
You can keep your agenda flexible to work with people across time zones. Our team members are in Amsterdam, New York, and Los Angeles, and our users are all over the world.
WeTransfer is an equal opportunity employer and we pride ourselves on the diversity of our people. We welcome you, and everything that makes youโwell, you. That includes your gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, or disability status.
A note on remote
Our work environment is hybrid-remote, meaning that we support our employees to work remotely and in the office. We encourage employees to decide for themselves and with their team whether or when to go to the office.
We currently use an Employer of Record to hire remote roles with specific location-based eligibility requirements. You must have the right to reside and to work in the location you will be working from.
