Responsibilities

• Work on embedding latent representations of entities across the platform to understand user behavior in a continuous cold start setting.
• Utilize Knowledge Graph Embeddings, Auto-Encoders, Attention mechanisms to represent Users and Experiences in a common latent space across multiple downstream tasks like Search, Ranking, and Notifications.
• Design, code, experiment, and implement models and algorithms to enhance customer satisfaction, increase supplier value, optimize business results, and ensure infrastructure efficiency.
• Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to ensure top-quality outcomes aligned with internal objectives.
• Investigate and adopt innovative concepts that offer tangible benefits.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on data science experience.
• In-depth knowledge of AI/ML/DL, Statistics, and related open-source libraries.
• Awareness of current ML techniques with a keen interest in self-improvement and solving real-world data challenges.
• Strong skills in SQL and at least one programming language.
• Comfortable with code reviews, architecture discussions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team for regular model deployments.
• Experience in deploying online solutions and analyzing real-time results through A/B testing.
• Passionate about mentoring junior team members and strong desire to help the team perform optimally.
• Leadership qualities, autonomy, and team collaboration skills.
• Clear communication skills, audience awareness, and proactive sharing of findings, including effective communication of complex ideas across the business.

Desired qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or related quantitative disciplines.
• Knowledge in any or all of User Modelling, Representation Learning, RecSys, Large Language Models (LLM).
• Prior experience in e-commerce or at an Online Travel Agency.

Work location

• This role can be on-site hybrid or remote based in the UK, Poland, or Portugal.
• Occasional travel to company offices as necessary.
