Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of conceptual, visually compelling campaigns.
- Design and adapt campaign creative across paid, owned and earned channels.
- Translate in-product experiences and key feature benefits into clear marketing assets.
- Support the in-house adaptation of major brand campaigns.
- Help develop and maintain scalable visual systems and libraries.
- Partner with other designers and marketers to concept, refine and ship creative that increases subscriptions.
- Work from creative briefs, participate in reviews, and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.
- Create clear presentation materials and articulate design rationale to colleagues.
- Stay informed about trends in digital advertising, marketing, branding, and culture.
- Bring fresh ideas and a spirit of experimentation to marketing efforts.
- Support the company's mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on graphic design experience.
- A design portfolio showcasing execution and conceptual thinking.
- High proficiency in design fundamentals.
- Fluency with design and motion tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Hands-on motion and animation experience.
- Comfort working with partners in marketing strategy and brand identity.
- Understanding of trends in digital advertising and growth marketing.
Preferred Qualifications
- A background in subscription, media, or content businesses.
- Experience in video editing software and knowledge of video production.
- A belief in the value of journalism and curiosity about the company.
- B.A., B.F.A. or M.F.A. in graphic design or equivalent experience.
