About you
As a Design Manager youโll be part of our diverse, fast-paced advertising studio team, working alongside a talented team of designers, copywriters and developers to bring digital interactive ad experiences to life. You'll lead the crafting and execution of a wide range of digital projects and frequently collaborate with our brand, marketing and editorial teams. Working in the Advertising Studio means you'll collaborate with top tier brands on leading campaigns, all while helping shape the evolution of advertising and the creative studio at WeTransfer.
This is a maternity cover for 6 months starting in August.
Your role:
Day to day, youโll help with the management of our team including mentorship and investing in the success of your direct reports, leading initiatives that build the long term culture. Youโll champion our team and culture at a project and team level, share inspiration widely and be considered a tastemaker on the team. You will ensure that the team has everything they need to do their jobs to the highest standard and impact. You will also proactively propose and own the implementation of processes and tools to increase productivity and improve results.
You will work closely with Studio leadership and well as will the Advertisement Sales and Strategy teams to ensure we are planning and delivering on all our strategic priorities in the most aligned way. You will also ensure these priorities are clear for all Advertising Studio team members and in full alignment with our project planning and resource allocation.
You will be providing guidance and feedback to team members across all stages of projects, enabling the team to deliver engaging digital advertisements on our transfer platform and beyond. You have impeccable design skills, a passion for art & technology, and always actively scanning the web for the latest design trends. Youโre naturally a strategic thinker and someone who is always looking to extend the boundaries of whatโs possible in digital design.
What youโll be doing:
Taking responsibility for the day-to-day management and career growth of your direct reports, as well as the teamโs creative output and business impact.
Facilitate collaboration with our diverse team of designers and developers
Lead pitches and craft presentations with supporting design concepts and mockups (static and animated)
Provide hands on guidance to the team to ensure each project meets our creative guidelines and maintains a high degree of quality and innovation
Mentor and lead all Designers that work alongside you on projects and provide constructive creative feedback
Foster a collaborative, creative and inclusive learning environment
Take ownership of internal initiatives that help inspire the team and streamline processes
Foster strong and collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders within the company
Identify areas for growth and understand how to frame up opportunities for senior leadership to help action
Requirements
10+ years experience leading and designing high end digital interactive projects
Experience with management in a similar role
Experience inspiring, leading and managing designers and other creative disciplines
Experience working in a fast paced agency environment
Strong skills in UI visual design
An eye and passion for details
Understanding that with more responsibility comes more autonomy
Stellar interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
Ability to handle multiple projects and be flexible and adaptable to client needs
Actively scans the web for the best of the best inspiration, examples of our craft and shares your exciting finds with the team
Ability to manage uncertainty and enjoys solving undefined problems
Based in AMS (not open to relocation)
