Role Responsibilities

• Design and develop mission-critical features and end-to-end workflows handling complex data visualization and interaction.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate user needs into functional designs.
• Implement responsive and accessible UI components using modern frontend technologies.
• Work closely with customers to synthesize feedback and drive impactful design solutions.
• Contribute strategically to product and design direction influencing Nominal's platform future.
• Clarify technical topics through concrete design outputs like diagrams and data visualizations.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in design engineering roles with a strong portfolio of design and development projects.
• Proficiency in Figma and frontend technologies including React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Familiarity with utility-first CSS frameworks and Radix UI components.
• Experience working with APIs such as RESTful and/or tRPC integrated into frontend applications.
• Ability to articulate design rationale and adapt to technical constraints creatively using web technologies.
• Capability to navigate technical environments like aerospace, defense, and advanced energy sectors.
• Enthusiastic problem-solving approach with willingness for customer immersion and onsite visits.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or related industries.
• Knowledge of performance tools for rendering large datasets and building smooth interfaces.
• Background in human-computer interaction or related fields.
• Bonus: Familiarity with WebGL or advanced graphics technologies.
