Responsibilities
- Gather and synthesize input from shoppers, clients, and colleagues to develop iterative improvements and product strategy to improve user experience.
- Work closely with designers, technical writers, and engineers for product development and postlaunch user experience improvements.
- Use research and data to create simple and elegant design flows and experiences.
- Use tools like Figma, Sketch, and Invision to deliver high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
- Design user-friendly solutions that minimize training and align with business goals and technical capabilities.
- Collaborate on features and product ideas with a focus on user-centered design methods and principles.
- Validate solutions by testing with clients and proxy users for usability and usefulness.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts on operational practices and technology relevant to product design.
- Communicate designs through presentations and technical documentation.
- Monitor usage and address usability issues with software engineers.
- Create and maintain a library of usability patterns and interface components with engineers for consistency.
- Select appropriate design solutions that are technically feasible within timeframe and solve user problems.
- Translate user needs and trends into product specs and agree on analytics with Product Management.
- Request feedback in design critiques and iterate solutions.
- Detail design specifications and support engineers on edge cases during development.
- Conduct user research including interviews and usability tests to determine needs and assess design viability.
- Plan and execute concept validation research with Research and Product Management.
- Analyze competitor product offerings and usability patterns.
- Prototype and communicate design solutions with stakeholders and users.
- Provide design specifications on Figma during handoff.
- Ideate and collaborate on product features and development phases with Product Management.
- Strategize product visions and design ahead of immediate roadmap features.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in User Experience, Design, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or closely related field.
- Five years of experience as User Experience Designer, Product Designer, or related position.
- Experience includes creating interaction models, user flows, screen designs, and UI details for ease of use and optimal experience.
- Experience proposing, building, and maintaining design system patterns and standards.
- Experience conducting user research like interviews, surveys, usability tests, and translating findings.
- Experience designing web applications.
- Experience using HTML/CSS and data models.
