SheCodes currently operates across 6 continents and numerous time zones, serving hundreds of thousands of students and attracting over 1 million monthly website visitors. Our continuous goal is to provide exceptional user experience for all our students through the most up-to-date design practices.
As part of our global expansion efforts, SheCodes seeks to onboard a dedicated team member to oversee our UI/UX design efforts at scale. As the UI/UX Designer, you will serve as the primary stakeholder on all aspects related to user interface and experience design. This includes being responsible for creating engaging interfaces across various platforms and utilizing user research to improve our website design while coordinating all aspects of the design process.
A UI/UX Designer plays an important role in crafting an organizationโs digital presence and user interactions. They are tasked with enhancing user satisfaction by improving the usability, accessibility, and overall experience of SheCodesโ platforms and products. This involves collaborating closely with the SheCodes team to align design initiatives with business objectives and user needs.
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for designing the user interface and experience strategy of SheCodes.
- Manage and enhance user experience across digital platforms.
- Report on the effectiveness of design-driven initiatives.
- Help in analyzing the effectiveness of design campaigns. You will iterate and refine until optimal solutions are achieved.
- Utilize research to identify target user demographics and devise appropriate design strategies.
- Manage and implement our retargeting design strategy across various platforms.
Weโre looking for someone who:
- Possesses strong creative design and communication skills.
- Has experience working in a startup environment, contributing to the development of design infrastructure, and scaling a high-growth business.
- Is fluent and highly proficient in English.
- Can collaborate closely with other members of the SheCodes team to manage daily design tasks and operations.
- Exhibits strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a preference for iterative design methodologies.
- Is adept at multitasking and excels in cross-functional, fast-paced environments.
- Can manage quick changes in company policy and procedures. (Weโre a small company that is expanding fast, so we always have to be on our toes!)
- Ensures alignment of design strategies with business objectives.
- Stays up-to-date on design trends and the competitive landscape.
- Has experience working remotely.
Skills/Requirements:
- 3 years of proven experience as a UI/UX designer or a similar role.
- Proficiency in digital design channels (for web, mobile, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and project-management skills.
- Proficiency in design tools and Figma software.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Business acumen and the ability to comprehend the needs of diverse user groups.
- Experience with global design considerations.
