Responsibilities
- Maintain and evolve the mobile design system as the single source of truth for components, patterns, and documentation across Android and iOS.
- Establish governance practices such as versioning, contributor workflows, and release protocols.
- Audit for accessibility, consistency, and quality across all mobile product surfaces.
- Collaborate with product designers to expand and refine the mobile design system responsibly.
- Lead workshops, training, and reviews to ensure adoption and correct usage.
- Partner with Android and iOS engineers to implement and maintain high-quality, reusable UI components.
- Build workflows for contributions, bug tracking, and system updates across platforms.
- Serve as the design advocate in mobile system-level technical discussions.
- Explore opportunities to leverage AI for efficiency, automation, and innovation in mobile design systems (e.g., component generation, QA, documentation, accessibility audits).
- Share insights with the design team on how AI may shape the future of mobile systems and workflows.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product design experience, with 2β3 years focused on design systems for Android and iOS.
- Proven ability to work independently and drive a mobile design system from concept to execution.
- Deep knowledge of Figma (components, variants, libraries, version control).
- Strong collaboration experience with mobile engineering teams.
- Experience with multi-platform design tokens and bridging Material Design (Android) and Human Interface Guidelines (iOS).
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, platform-specific design considerations, and QA workflows.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Curiosity about AI and an eagerness to explore how it can complement mobile design systems and workflows.
