Responsibilities
- Lead product design across the Enterprise Scale domain, supporting and growing a team of Product Designers
- Act as a player-coach close to the details, both shaping strategy with key partners and stepping into driving specific initiatives
- Champion design for both Day 1 and Day 200: from first-time setup to long-term enterprise operations across thousands of engineers and multiple business units
- Work with Product & Engineering peers to lead your group and establish systems for high-quality execution on feature development
- Champion the needs of enterprise customers (scale, admin, trust, governance), shaping multi-touchpoint journeys that extend beyond the product itself
- Pave the way for how we measure the experience for our enterprise cohort, helping us hold the right bar for quality
- Partner with Research, Sales, Marketing, CSM, and TAMs to influence the end-to-end enterprise experience
- Drive coherence and consistency across Enterprise experiences, ensuring Octopus feels unified and unmistakably ours
- Inspire teams with compelling narratives that link design to customer and business outcomes
Requirements
- 12+ years of product design experience, with substantial time in enterprise B2B SaaS or developer tooling
- Ideally designed for security-sensitive, admin, or governance-heavy workflows (CIAM, IAM, or platform-level administration experience is a big plus)
- Thrives in complexity: you can map multi-stakeholder journeys, anticipate edge cases, and balance effortless UX with enterprise-grade requirements
- Strong toolkit as a design practitioner, with skills in journey mapping, vision casting, prototyping, customer research and other sense-making artefacts
- Proven experience leading and growing designers, creating conditions for quality and impact
- Influences and aligns execs, peers, and cross-functional leaders around ambitious product experiences
- Communicates with clarity and inspiration, helping teams connect daily decisions to the bigger picture
- Brings a systems mindset, to spot cross-portfolio opportunities and coach others to steward quality
Compensation
- Level 5 (Assoc. Design Director): Maturing: $190k AUD / $205k NZD, Performing: $200k AUD / $215k NZD
- Salaries exclude Super and KiwiSaver
- Benefits include a minimum of 25 days annual leave, up to 10 days of paid sick and carers leave, 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave with flexible return options, and stock options
