Role Summary

  • Play a key role in shaping the experience of the core product: intelligent canvas and creator workflow tools.
  • Design high-fidelity interfaces for complex features like workflow editors, AI assistants, and multi-format editors.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and creative teams to ensure usability and aesthetic alignment with a creative-first mission.
  • Strong background in creative workflows is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of complex, software-style interfaces with focus on usability, visual clarity, and scalability.
  • Translate user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into UI/UX flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Work closely with product managers and engineers to define design requirements and refine feature scopes.
  • Advocate for the user; conduct or partner on usability reviews and gather feedback.
  • Understand creative industry mindsets and design workflows accordingly.
  • Develop, maintain, and evolve design systems/components to support rapid iteration with visual and interaction consistency.
  • Collaborate with brand, motion/animation, and visual design teams for high-quality UI aesthetics.
  • Ensure responsiveness, accessibility, performance, and cross-platform consistency.
  • Communicate design rationale clearly and collaborate during implementation to maintain design integrity.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of UX/UI or product design experience on complex software-style tools.
  • Strong portfolio featuring high-complexity interfaces such as workflow editors and creative tools.
  • Proven ability to design for creative industries or tooling used by creative professionals.
  • Excellent visual design sensibilities including typography, layout, color, spacing, iconography, and motion/interaction.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Principle, After Effects.
  • Familiarity with design systems and component-based UI design.
  • Strong communication skills for articulating design decisions and collaboration.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bonus: Experience designing AI-powered tools, creative workflows, multi-media editors, or node-based visual interfaces.

Engagement Details

  • Duration: 3 months initial contract.
  • Time commitment: Flexible; part-time (20-25 hours/week) possible.
  • Location: Fully remote (work from anywhere).
  • Start date: ASAP or mutually agreed.
  • Reporting to Product Lead and Creative/UX Lead with regular interaction with engineering and stakeholders.
