The Role
- Design and refine key surfaces impacting conversion and streamline booking and post-booking flows.
- Run usability and growth experiments to improve guest and host experience.
- Partner with engineering and staff designer to expand the design system and improve consistency.
- Collaborate with Director of Design to produce polished, production-ready designs.
- Explore AI tools and Figma plug-ins to accelerate ideation and prototyping.
Responsibilities
- Design high-quality scalable solutions in Figma prioritizing component hygiene, auto-layout, and clarity.
- Use animation and transitions to guide user interactions and understanding.
- Maintain and evolve the design system components, documentation, and accessibility standards.
- Prototype and test ideas with the research team from concept to interactive flows.
- Maintain a Figma prototype library of main pages and key states.
- Collaborate across product, research, and engineering to deliver shipped experiences.
- Communicate design decisions clearly with rationale based on user insights and business goals.
- Contribute to critiques and share work regularly within the design team.
Qualifications
- Two to five+ years designing consumer or marketplace products; experience in double-sided marketplaces or travel is a plus.
- Fluent and organized in Figma including auto-layout, components, variants, and complex prototyping.
- Experience with UI motion tools such as Framer, Principle, ProtoPie, or After Effects.
- Experience designing for desktop web, mobile web, and native apps (iOS and Android).
- Comfortable designing with user research as part of the process.
- Curious about AI in design for exploration, content generation, or prototyping speed.
- Experienced in maintaining a design system.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present and advocate design decisions.
- Bonus: experience in conversion optimization, growth design, data fluency, or experiment-driven environments.
