Responsibilities
- Lead the UX vision for AI financial coach, defining its communication and support for users.
- Design conversational flows, reasoning paths, and interaction patterns for intuitive and emotionally intelligent AI behavior.
- Design and contribute to AI evaluation frameworks to ensure consistent, safe behavior and personality.
- Partner with ML teams to shape model responses, decision explanations, and escalation processes.
- Build frameworks for tone, behavior, escalation, and compliance guardrails.
- Continuously optimize the coach using behavioral data, success signals, and user feedback.
- Design engagement system including streaks, missions, challenges, milestones, and reward feedback.
- Craft motivational loops to celebrate progress without manipulation or dark patterns.
- Develop visual languages, animations, and pacing to make progress emotionally reinforcing.
- Partner with behavioral scientists to ground systems in proven psychology focusing on intrinsic motivation.
- Personalize gamification based on user context, goals, and risk profile.
- Define and evolve end-to-end interaction model ensuring cohesion across AI coach, gamification, insights, and financial features.
- Establish and maintain scalable design system for AI and gamification components and motion principles.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, supportive experiences shaping architecture, logic, and user flows.
Core Product Design Responsibilities
- Define long-term design vision for consumer financial wellness app blending UX, conversation, automation, and game mechanics.
- Translate Trustlyβs capabilities into accessible and friendly user experiences.
- Lead end-to-end design for new features including research, flows, prototypes, UI, interaction design, narrative, and polish.
- Work closely with engineering to ensure quality, performance, and scalability of design implementation.
- Build reusable systems, component libraries, and interaction patterns supporting fast product development.
- Measure success through user behavior, engagement, and financial health improvements.
- Present design decisions and strategies clearly to executives and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in product design, UX, game design, or interaction design, preferably with consumer apps or fintech.
- System thinker with understanding of loops, motivations, branching paths, and long-term user journeys.
- Experience designing gamification systems, rewards, achievements, and habit-forming mechanics.
- Skilled in crafting complex non-linear flows such as narrative interactions and progression systems.
- Comfortable designing AI-driven interfaces including conversational UX and model behavior constraints.
- Ability to collaborate closely with ML teams understanding data inputs and guardrails impacts.
- Clear communicator able to articulate design rationale to engineers, product managers, researchers, and executives.
- Experience with rapid prototyping, user testing, and iterative product development in fast-paced environments.
- Deep empathy for users with financial anxiety and passion for improving financial wellbeing.
