Role Overview

  • Accountable for the day-to-day quality, speed, and effectiveness of design output for a major Growth Product Design Engineering group.
  • Lead design for critical growth experiences such as first-time user journeys, identity verification, KYC, activation, referrals, rewards, and retention.
  • Ship high-quality design consistently and act as a quality gate for growth experiences.
  • Make teams faster and better through strong systems.

Team Scope

  • Manage designers and design managers responsible for onboarding or engagement experiences.
  • Focus areas include user flows like sign-up, deposits, trades, verification experiences, activation flows, referral systems, rewards, incentives, and retention surfaces.

Opportunities

  • Own design execution ensuring timely delivery with high quality against outcomes.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management within the group.
  • Run design critiques to improve UX clarity and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers on problem statements, success metrics, and experiment plans.
  • Ensure user testing, prototyping, and iteration especially for compliance-heavy experiences.
  • Guide decisions using quantitative data and qualitative insight.
  • Standardize design patterns to reduce rework and increase speed while maintaining quality.
  • Improve collaboration between designers, engineers, and product managers.
  • Introduce and evolve tools and workflows including AI-assisted design and research.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusion, and localization.
  • Maintain high standards for trust, clarity, and usability in regulated user journeys.

Skills and Experience

  • 8-10+ years of product design experience on complex digital products.
  • 4+ years leading product designers.
  • Hands-on experience with onboarding, activation, rewards, referral, or retention flows.
  • Strong UX, interaction design, visual hierarchy, typography, and composition skills.
  • Experience using metrics, funnels, experimentation, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Ability to review work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Proven ability to build and run design processes, critique systems, and quality standards.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in fast-moving environments.
  • Clear communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in fintech, marketplaces, or regulated products is a plus.
