About your role 👀

As the second Product Designer at Pogo, you’ll help lead the product design and creative direction for our new consumer insights product, which allows brands/retailers to connect with millions of purchase-verified consumers. This platform will ultimately be used by some of the largest companies in the world.

Specifically, you will:

  • Design core product experiences end-to-end, from early exploration through launch and iteration for our up-and-coming B2B platform and consumer app with 3 million users (and growing)
  • Craft polished, delightful interfaces that build trust and showcase the power of our data and AI technology
  • Sweat the details - layout, typography, spacing, color, motion, interactions
  • Help define the product roadmap and lay the foundations for our design language, systems, and culture.
  • Find creative ways to ship high-quality work in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, startup environment
  • Be 1 of 2 designers (for now), working cross-functionally with engineering and GTM

💎 We’re looking for the best talent out there, so we’re offering above-market salaries & equity.

About you 👩‍🚀

  • Experience designing software products.
  • Bonus if you’ve done this at a startup, or have designed AI interactions before!
  • Bonus if you have experience designing enterprise-grade products.
  • You design quicklyand efficiently, using Figma to gain super powersand reach “escape velocity design”. When needed, you make near-term tradeoffsand take shortcuts - even though you have strong design visionand awareness of how to improve the product later.
  • You’re a design nerd at heart. You have a very high bar for design qualityand strong opinions about what “great” looks like. You actively seek out the best-designed best products/designers, constantly collecting references from Twitter, Mobbin, and beyond. And you bring that level of rigorand polish into your own work.

  • You actively use LLMs like as ChatGPT or Claude in your design workflow.

  • You’re relentless in pursuing the best solution - willing to explore, iterate, and even scrap a lot of your own work if it means creating a stronger product.

  • You’re a full-stack designer. You’ve designed experiences from scratchand know how to bring it to life working cross-functionally with productand engineering.

  • You have strong product intuitionand have a knack for creating experiences that index on simplicityand clarity. At the same time, you’re willing to re-consider your initial intuitionas you get more user data.

Why You Might Be Excited About This Opportunity 🙌

  • Work on the design for an up-and-coming enterprise product. Our enterprise demand is growing, and we are in the early stages of building a product that will ultimately be used by some of the largest companies in the world. You’ll use qualitative interviewsand direct customer feedback to shape product decisionsand design solutions tailored to enterprise needs.
  • Design matters a lot to us. You won’t be fighting uphill battles to convince people why design matters, and you’ll be joining a teamthat values best-in-class design. Fun fact: one of our co-founder’s first dream jobs was to be a furniture designer(and has designed a lamp!).
  • Be surrounded by amazing product thinkers. We believe product thinking is critical for everyone on our team at our stage. From our engineersand our customer support to our co-founders - our entire team has a unique obsessionand knack for product thinking.
  • Quick feedback loops. Unlike designing enterprise software or working in big tech, launch and get user feedback on what’s workingand what’s not in a matter of hours.
  • Shape our design culture from the ground up. As one of our early team members, you’ll play a huge role in defining our culture, processesand traditions.

Why You Might Not Be Excited About US 👎

  • Priorities may shift quickly. Oftentimes, we’re tackling very ambiguous problems that don’t have clear-cut answers. While we make calculated bets, we have a strong culture of experimentationand we’ll pivot as necessary based on what we’re seeing in the dataand what we’re hearing from our users.
  • You will be one of two designers(for now!). While we have an extraordinary Lead Product Designer(former Figma, Slack & Glean), we don’t have the typical design management overhead or user researchers. We’re looking for someone that gets energized by learning independentlyand working in tiny teams.
  • At times, you’ll need to design things in a day. We live and breathe a value called “Calculated Speed”, which involves iteratingand shipping weekly, rather than spending months going through complex processes or lengthy builds. Our engineers are some of the best in the world, which means anything you design today may be shipped next week.
  • We expect more than 9 to 5 - raw hours make an impact at our current stage. That said, we trust each team member to create a flexible work schedule that allows them to be most productive while accommodating other priorities outside of work. We also strongly encourage time off to recharge the batteries: in addition to unlimited PTO, we’ve implemented a minimum 20 days vacation policy 🌴
