Imagine being the first designer on the Fire & Motion team! They're itching for your skill set to tackle valuable projects like Deployment Freezes and Bulk Approval for Manual Interventions. You get to solve real user issues and make life easier for our customers. The team is subdivided into 2 sub-teams who rotate every 6 weeks between small improvements project work and reactive work. The team works across the whole product so thereโs a huge variety of work to keep things fresh. With nine engineers, a Product Manager, and an Engineering Manager, it's a tight-knit crew geared for big wins.
As the teamโs Product Designer, your role will be to solve problems that meet our usersโ needs and align with the teamโs strategy. Youโll help deliver tactical work aligned to the teamโs mission.
As a member of the Design Team, youโll stay connected and supported through team rituals that encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing.
This is a remote role based in Australia or New Zealand.
You will be a great fit for this role if you have:
- 2+ years of experience in a Product Design role at another software company, preferably B2B.
- Previously worked alongside Product Managers and Engineers in an agile environment.
- A portfolio that demonstrates experience shipping UX/UI design for software and a firm grasp of UX methodologies and interaction design.
- Experience providing valuable insights by using various qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- An understanding of the need for consistency, reducing UX debt and the value of design systems.
- Proficiency with industry design tools such as Figma and Whimsical/Miro.
- Excellent communication skills.

A typical day might include:
- Working with your teamโs Product Manager to conduct user research such as user interviews or usability testing.
- Facilitating a cross-functional workshop to uncover assumptions or work towards an outcome.
- Pairing with an Engineer, Product Manager, or another designer to solve a UX, usability, or UI problem.
- Giving feedback to other designers to help guide them to success.
- Contributing to our design system or updating components in the component library then communicating those changes to the team.
