Airbridge is hiring a designer with hands-on experience building inspiring digital products and services. At Abridge, you will work within a crack team of AI researchers, software engineers, clinicians, and creatives to build AI-powered products that address the needs of patients and doctors. You will immerse yourself in clinical workflows to understand stakeholder needs and shape your insights into compelling mobile and web experiences that liberate clinicians from the tedious clerical work that plagues modern healthcare. In your first assignment, you will likely play a key role in an initiative to extend Abridge’s product deeper into the after-visit workflow, addressing revenue cycle management and keeping this part of the product in harmony with Abridge’s documentation generation.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary product delivery team to define and scope new features for Abridge’s products.
- Create a full range of design artifacts to communicate the product vision and user interactions (e.g. user flows, wireframes, production-ready UI).
- Contribute to Abridge’s expanding design system and component libraries.
- Engage in product discovery, conducting interviews and shadowing sessions with doctors and other clinicians to uncover both how they use Abridge today, dream of using it in the future, and exciting possibilities that they haven’t yet dreamt of.
- Combine insights from user feedback and analytics to identify trends and quickly iterate on designs.
- Work in lock-step with engineering, machine learning researchers, and QA to understand technical constraints, address edge cases, and ensure that shipped features match your designs.
What You'll Bring
- You have 5+ years of experience designing and shipping digital products (web & mobile).
- You (likely) hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in design (or related field).
- Whether you’ve worked in healthcare or engaged with it as a patient or caregiver, you are fired up by the chance to change it for the better.
- You know your way around Figma in your sleep.
- You have a perfectionist’s eye for crisp interactions and visuals, but a pragmatist’s drive to ship products on time.
- You’re an empathetic communicator with a broad toolkit and know how to get your points across in-person or remotely.
- You are comfortable embracing ambiguity and energized by exploring divergent approaches to problems.
Bonus points if
- You have past experience designing for a wide variety of media types, particularly audio.
- Consumer mobile apps are your bread and butter; you have a strong sense of what will be ‘sticky’ and what will just be a sticking point.
- You’re fascinated by the future of social networks, user communities, and UGC.
Must be willing to travel up to 10%
Abridge typically hosts a 3-day team retreat every quarter, where our ML, Engineering and Product teams meet up in person at one of our main locations (Pittsburgh, SF, NY). These retreats often feature internal hackathons, collaborative project sessions, as well as social events that provide the team with opportunities to connect and unwind after hours.
We value people who want to learn new things, and we know that great team members might not perfectly match a job description. If you’re interested in the role but aren’t sure whether or not you’re a good fit, we’d still like to hear from you.
