Job Description
As a Lead Product Designer at Metaplane, youโll own the design process and strategy for the entire Metaplane platform. Youโll work with our customers to deeply understand the challenges that cause them to fight fires on a daily basis. Then youโll collaborate with our co-founder and engineering team to research, scope, and design workflows that solve these problems. In doing so, youโll help data teams preserve trust in the data that powers their entire business.
The primary focus of this role will be designing interfaces and workflows that help data teams monitor what is most important across their data platform, visualize the behavior of their data over time, make sense of the dependencies between their data systems, and automate identifying and fixing data incidents. Youโll ensure we can ship software that transforms the way data engineers do their jobs every week.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in product design, interaction design, UX design, and information architecture for SaaS products geared toward technical users
- You love working closely with engineers to build amazing products, and understand when a quick fix to unblock the team vs a deep dive on a gnarly problem is needed
- You excel at listening to customers and driving product direction based on their needs
- You can balance moving quickly and unblocking engineers with longer term, strategic design decisions
- Youโre methodical and organized, and thrive in a role with a lot of variety in the day-to-day work.
