As an Engineering Manager, youโll be responsible for setting strategy, leading your team to deliver results consistently and sustainably, growing and developing talented engineers, and cultivating a healthy, results-driven culture on your team.
Vantaโs business and team are growing quickly, and itโs essential that we lay the foundation for a successful organization. Youโll leverage your past experience and play a crucial role in laying the groundwork for a successful engineering organization, contributing to developing foundational processes that enable our entire team to scale โ onboarding, interview loops, career frameworks, execution frameworks, and more.
Our Design Systems and Frontend Platform team is focused on two workstreams:
- Design Systems builds scalable components used by Vantaโs product teams to avoid duplicating work and provide a consistent UI/UX experience for customers across the Vanta platform. This part of the team delivers common patterns and components, along with rules and guidance to accelerate product development for Vanta Engineers.
- Frontend Platform focuses on building and maintaining infrastructure to support our quickly growing number of Vanta engineers. As the area grows, the responsibilities will include developer experience, frontend testing and overall frontend infrastructure strategy.

What youโll do as an Engineering Manager at Vanta:
- Drive significant impact for our customers and business by leading teams to deliver results consistently and sustainably
- Develop and hire teams of talented and kind engineers
- Set direction and guide technical strategy, ensuring that your team is delivering long-term value aligned with Vantaโs business priorities
- Work closely with Vantaโs customers and customer-facing teammates to build and ship high-value products and infrastructure
- Play an integral role in laying the foundation for Vantaโs engineering culture
How to be successful in this role:
- Have two or more years of professional experience in a full-time engineering manager role of either a Design Systems or Front End Platform Engineering team (and/or previous experience as an individual contributor on either of these types of teams)
- Have prior experience managing complex, long-term projects that touch multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Have previous startup experience, or worked in an environment that prioritizes a bias for action
- Have an interest in learning about security or prior experience in the space
- Have experience owning enterprise grade products

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The base pay range for this position is $190,000 - $223,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
