About the role
Ruby Labs is looking for a UI/UX-oriented Frontend Developer who can independently create and implement interface solutions without relying on a designer or ready-made Figma files. This is not a traditional “designer-to-developer” role. We are looking for a developer who:- Understands design principles and UI/UX fundamentals
- Can create interface concepts from references, product ideas, or high-level requirements
- Uses modern AI tools to generate and iterate on UI solutions
- Implements their own designs in production-ready code
Key Responsibilities
- Create UI concepts from scratch based on product requirements, references, or ideas (without an existing designer in the team).
- Use AI-powered UI tools (Hero UI Chat, Lovable, v0.dev, Figma AI, etc.) to accelerate design exploration and prototyping.
- Translate requirements into intuitive, structured, and visually consistent interfaces.
- Implement UI using Next.js (15+), React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
- Build reusable component-based UI structures.
- Ensure visual consistency, responsiveness, and usability.
- Take full ownership of UI delivery — from idea to final implementation.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of UI/UX fundamentals (layout, spacing, typography, hierarchy, usability).
- Experience creating interfaces without relying on designers or ready-made design files.
- Experience using AI tools for UI generation and exploration (Hero UI Chat, Lovable, v0.dev, Figma AI, Banana AI, etc.).
- Basic but recent experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
- Ability to independently interpret requirements and deliver UI solutions.
