Overview
- Shape the narrative for security capabilities including Application Security, Software Supply Chain Security, Security Risk Management, and Compliance.
- Influence positioning, messaging, proof points, and go-to-market plans targeting security, compliance, and engineering leaders.
- Operate autonomously and partner with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing.
- Refine security value proposition and segmentation to help security professionals see GitLab as a trusted partner.
Projects
- Develop end-to-end go-to-market plays for GitLab’s security and compliance solution set.
- Create persona-based messaging and enablement for security, compliance, and engineering leaders.
Responsibilities
- Lead positioning, narrative, and go-to-market strategy for GitLab’s security solution set.
- Partner with internal teams to understand customer needs and translate them into messaging and launch priorities.
- Build and refine compelling positioning and messaging for security offerings with persona-specific content.
- Define and execute go-to-market plans ensuring alignment with sales and marketing motions.
- Serve as subject matter expert synthesizing analyst feedback, market trends, and customer proof points.
- Create and maintain sales enablement materials such as pitches, playbooks, and objection-handling guides.
- Establish GitLab’s external thought leadership in security through speaking engagements and content programs.
- Coach and mentor other Product Marketing Managers to enhance team impact.
Requirements
- Extensive product marketing experience with complex technical products, ideally in B2B SaaS for Application Security or related domains.
- Experience with security and DevSecOps products and capabilities.
- Deep understanding of security and DevSecOps personas and their evaluation process.
- Experience working with large B2B customers translating security needs into positioning and go-to-market strategies.
- Ability to synthesize feedback and data into actionable messaging and revenue plays.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex concepts to varied audiences.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps workflows.
- Openness to learning and staying current on industry trends.
