Launched in February 2021, Jasper is an AI content platform that helps creators and companies of all types expand their creative potential. With 100,000 active customers using Jasper to break through writerโs block, repackage their content, create original art, and adjust writing for language and tone. The interest in AI continues to grow and we are at the forefront of teaching the world how to leverage artificial intelligence as a creative partner. We are building teams that will pioneer the content generations space even further.
Jasper is looking for a Creative Director to help bring our brand and story to life. Reporting to the head of marketing, youโll work with outside agencies and creatives to develop both our brand identity (style guide, voice, assets, key properties) and our strategy for brand activations throughout the year. We are seeking someone with a clear creative point of view who is energized by the story weโre trying to tell.
What is that story? Our work is about using artificial intelligence to unlock creative potential. We see AI as a partner to creatives that can get them through writerโs block, over hurdles and out of the content hamster wheel. Ai should empower content creators to do their best work and get time and mental space back for new ideas. Our target market is composed of creatives (writers, designers, content marketers) and content-forward companies.
For now, this role will work exclusively with outside agencies, freelancers and creative partners. In the future, this role will help us determine which roles make sense to bring in-house and could evolve into a people managing role. This role is open to candidates located in the US and can be remote within the United States.
What you will do at Jasper
- Work with a cross-section of outside agencies, freelancers and creative partners across all disciplines - design & illustration, audio production, video production, copywriting, etc. - to execute on your creative vision. Take the lead in finding, evaluating and directing these partners.
- Evolve the brand architecture of Jasper, developing core style guides and enablement assets to ensure all content speaks to the same origins, tone, design, and key messages.
- Partner with the head of marketing to set the budget for creative projects and agencies. Make prioritization decisions to solve for the best quality work in a way that adheres to that budget.
- Partner with the head of marketing to develop editorial series and a calendar of other brand activations throughout the year across creative formats and platforms.
- Measure and communicate the impact of your work to stakeholders across the company.
What you will bring:
- A fascination about what artificial intelligence can mean for creative work. This should include a perspective on what responsible AI looks like and an excitement for the potential of this technology to expand creative craft. You need not be professionally skilled in AI, but you should be highly curious.
- Experience fielding and directing a collection of outside agencies and creative partners to strong results.
- A strong portfolio of creative work - this does not need to span all creative disciplines.
- A well developed point of view on good creative work and operations. The ability to give constructive qualitative feedback on work that is clear, actionable and strategic. This should include being able to provide productive feedback even when the creative area in question is not your core discipline.
- A bent toward productive partnerships and creative collaboration that adds to rather than dilutes the quality of the work
