Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day product and regulatory counseling for key parts of our payouts platform (U.S.-focused).
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Ops from early design through launch and scale, giving clear guidance that teams can implement.
  • Help shape how we build and ship in a regulated space by translating U.S. payments and consumer-protection requirements into pragmatic product guardrails, customer-facing terms/disclosures, and durable internal guidance.
  • Drive the contracting engine as we scale; negotiate and draft customer agreements and related terms to keep cycle times fast and standards consistent as Sales expands.
  • Create leverage by turning repeat questions into playbooks, checklists, and templates to enable teams to move quickly without reinventing decisions.
  • Pitch in as a generalist by contributing to important tasks as needed on a small team.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience practicing law (combination of law firm and in-house preferred), at least some in-house experience at a tech or fintech company.
  • Strong foundation in U.S. financial regulatory issues relevant to payments and money movement, with good judgment on when to escalate issues.
  • Strong product-counseling instincts with ability to provide practical recommendations in ambiguity and assist with tradeoffs.
  • Solid drafting and negotiation skills with ability to manage steady agreements without overperfection.
  • Clear written communication skills and ability to build trust cross-functionally in a remote environment.
  • J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with bank partners, processors, card/prepaid programs, or other regulated payments infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting audits/exams, responding to regulator or partner diligence, or managing outside counsel on discrete matters.

  • Competitive pay and benefits with a base salary range of $180,000 to $230,000.
  • Remote work location within the Americas.
