Responsibilities
- Develop quantum application strategy for life sciences and other industries through continuous knowledge building, market intelligence, and strategic business analysis.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of IonQ's quantum computing technology and ecosystem.
- Identify, prioritize, and articulate quantum applications potential within life sciences.
- Conduct objective business case evaluations including TAM/SAM, P&L analysis, customer segments, and alignment with hardware roadmap.
- Lead customer discovery workshops and consulting projects to explore quantum application opportunities.
- Collaborate with quantum engineering experts to assess feasibility of proposed applications.
- Partner with customers and internal teams to build customer-specific application roadmaps aligned with technology and business strategies.
- Serve as liaison between customers and engineering teams to resolve technical hurdles and translate application requirements.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing on proposals, pricing, business models, positioning, and competitive analysis.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience with computing workflows in life sciences such as computational chemistry, logistics optimization, and imaging analysis.
- Proven ability to establish relationships with customers and manage complex market analysis projects involving ambiguity.
- Comfortable collaborating with engineering and scientific experts despite knowledge gaps.
- Skilled at organizing requirements, driving results, and collaborating with multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree in life sciences focused on computational methods.
- Deep technical understanding of computational tools and AI/ML models in pharma, chemical, or biotech industries.
- MBA with experience applying business analysis to investment decisions.
- Basic understanding of quantum computing hardware/software.
- Experience with machine learning, AI, HPC, optimization algorithms, and entrepreneurial ventures.
- Experience in market sizing and emerging technology market segmentation.
- Strong foundational science knowledge to engage with scientists across disciplines.
Location
- Remote role with preference for candidates on US East Coast or in Europe (Sweden, UK, Switzerland).
- Up to 25% travel to Canada, US, Sweden, UK, and other European locations.
