Summary of role
- The Director/VP of Product Management role combines deep product expertise with exceptional leadership capabilities to champion product excellence and organizational success by delivering products that meet market needs and company goals.
- Responsible for developing comprehensive product roadmaps that prioritize conflicting stakeholder needs while maintaining product focus, strategic development and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Product Portfolio Oversight: Oversee complete product lifecycle from conception to launch and beyond including tracking product and market analytics to inform decisions and define KPIs.
- Prioritize features, manage trade-offs, and ensure products meet market demands and customer expectations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other leaders and teams to ensure alignment across business stakeholders, product, engineering, marketing and development.
- Communicate development progress, suggestions, and concerns internally; provide solutions if roadblocks arise.
- Business and Financial Management: Allocate budgets and develop strategies to increase revenue and profitability through product initiatives.
- Market Intelligence: Analyze market trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities and position products competitively.
- External Presence: Serve as the face and voice of the product via speaking engagements, press, thought leadership, and industry conferences.
- People Leadership: Build and lead high performing teams by setting direction, managing performance, developing talent, and mentoring.
Qualifications
- Experience launching and scaling innovative, customer-centric products that provide sustainable competitive advantages.
- Expertise in user experience principles, market trend analysis, and competitive analysis.
- Experience in large group insurance and self-funded market product development.
- Ability to develop short and long term product roadmaps to the ASO market.
- Strong communication skills to convey product vision and strategy to technical and business audiences.
- Experience managing disciplined product development lifecycle and digital products driving revenue, retention, and customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with product management tools, metrics, agile methodologies, and software development processes.
- Bachelorβs degree required, advanced degree preferred.
- 10 years of product management or related experience, 5 years in large group insurance/self-funded market.
- 5 years of leadership experience managing and scaling product teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in stop loss and captive program setup, and fully insured or provider reinsurance preferred.
- Understanding of clinical care, primary care, EMR, clinical space, health plan and virtual care delivery is a plus.
Work Location
- Assigned to Buffalo or NYC Office with hybrid remote work ability.
- Strong candidates may be considered to work remote.
