We are looking for a Product Owner to join a cross-functional Agile team working on complex, large-scale digital products within a global environment.
You will work closely with business stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring priorities are clear, requirements are well understood, and the team remains focused on delivering the highest-value outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own, manage, and continuously prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities and product objectives.
- Translate business needs and product goals into clear user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Scrum Masters, Engineering Managers, and other stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Facilitate backlog refinement and ensure stories are sufficiently understood and prepared before development begins.
- Make day-to-day prioritization decisions and provide clarity when requirements, priorities, or business expectations change.
- Act as a key point of contact between the development team and business/product stakeholders.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Manage dependencies, risks, and competing priorities across teams and stakeholders.
- Partner with engineering to understand technical constraints, dependencies, and trade-offs when making product decisions.
- Maintain visibility of delivery progress and communicate risks, changes, and dependencies clearly to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the teamβs product and delivery practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Product Owner in Agile software development environments.
- Strong experience with backlog management, prioritization, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable work for engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to navigate different priorities and expectations.
- Confidence working directly with technical teams and discussing requirements, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Strong decision-making skills and a high level of ownership.
- Experience working with distributed or global teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and the software development lifecycle.
- Advanced English with strong conversational skills, as the role requires frequent interaction with international stakeholders.
- Availability to work in a hybrid model in SΓ£o Paulo, Brazil.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in SAFe or other scaled Agile environments.
- Previous experience with products in payments, financial services, fintech, or other complex transactional environments.
- Experience working with multiple squads or managing cross-team dependencies.
- Familiarity with highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
