We’re looking for a Product Manager

Our teams strive to deliver exceptional customer service, and we want them to have the best tools for their job. That’s why we develop and continuously improve many of our Customer relationship management (CRM) tools in house. As the Product Manager of the new CRM Team (Germany) you would be responsible for adapting, improving and scaling these tools for teams supporting our customers in Germany.

The mission

As we expand our presence and grow our operations across Europe, we are setting up teams focused on specific countries we operate in. You will be joining a newly created team focused on adapting and improving internal tools for our colleagues serving customers in Germany.

The team

The CRM team, known as Backyard Gardeners (BYG), created our proprietary CRM software (called Backyard), as well as the systems supporting calls, emails, notifications, underwriting and collection processes. These systems are used by more than 300 people in the company who interact with our customers - such as sales, customer success, credit analysts, broker account managers, collections specialists.

The role

Roadmap Development and Stakeholder Management:

  • Lead the development and be responsible for the team’s roadmap by running prioritisation meetings and managing stakeholders.
  •  Use qualitative and quantitative methodologies to discover insights and opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to make sure that the team and the business stay aligned on progress and goals.

Technical Problem-Solving and Collaboration:

  • Break down complex technical challenges into manageable components and facilitate effective problem-solving within the team, fostering agility and adaptability.
  • Collaborate closely with programmers and designers to craft comprehensive product and feature requirement documents that align business objectives and user needs.

Feature Delivery and Impact Evaluation:

  • Deliver new features swiftly by managing intermediate milestones and removing blockers.
  • Evaluate the impact of projects after they have concluded to determine whether value was realised (and if not, work out what we can learn from it / what we could do to improve it).
  • Ensure the quality of delivery, by following up post-release to proactively find bugs etc.

The requirements

Essential:

  • Significant professional experience in a product management or technical role.
  • A commercial mindset; you can understand the business’ priorities and how to generate maximum value from your developer resource.
  • Delivery focused, and driven to make things happen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You thrive in environments that require building relationships built on trust and expertise.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English; English is the primary business language.

Bonus:

  • A strong interest in tech solutions, and how tech is built (even if you’re not a developer)
  • A natural curiosity to spot, break down and resolve problems.
  • A strong numerate background, i.e. maths, physics, statistics, computer science, or similar.
  • You are a team player with a fine balance of confidence, gravitas, humility and enthusiasm: you will need to work with various stakeholders to get stuff done in a rapidly growing environment.
  • Excited about helping small businesses thrive - belief in the significance of our mission.
  • Any level of German language skills.

The salary

We expect to pay from £60,000 - £75,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.

Compensation Range: £60K - £75K
