Job Description

Weโ€™re building our product marketing muscle at Make, so weโ€™ve created this new position to spearhead our Product Marketing efforts and build this critical function within the Marketing team. A key focus area will be building expertise around key segments in order to create targeted value propositions, and using these to enable and align our commercial facing teams (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success) through powerful segment-specific motions. Weโ€™re looking for a messaging and enablement expert to act as a key partner to our commercial and product teams, helping to drive alignment in cross-team GTM motions.

This role reports into the Head of Enterprise Marketing, leading one person initially with plans to grow the team in the near future.

What youโ€™ll do:

  • Create high impact product value propositions that work in conjunction with our overall brand messaging as part of a consistent messaging framework.
  • Ensure strong product validation of our messaging to connect our value with our product differentiation as a core part of the narratives we put out to market.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our buyers and users, their challenges, needs and use cases, in order to build personas.
  • Craft crisp, targeted segment-specific value propositions and messaging that resonate with target audiences.
  • Enable commercial teams (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Growth) on our differentiated proposition by creating a range of tools and materials that effectively communicate our value throughout the customer journey.
  • Partner with Product and commercial teams to launch new product features and apps to drive awareness and acquisition among prospective and existing customers.
  • Build a strong understanding of our competitorsโ€™ positioning, messaging and product value in order to effectively optimize for competitive differentiation within our messaging and create useful tools for commercial teams.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing within a B2B technology business 
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of product marketing, with a particular focus on creating segment specific value propositions, personas and messaging.
  • Direct people leadership experience in building and coaching high performing teams.
  • Skilled at project management and driving cross-functional teams against shared goals.
  • Deep understanding of how to successfully enable different commercial teams (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success). 
  • Skilled at translating complex concepts into simple, jargon-free propositions.
  • Naturally strong communicator - both written and verbal with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to spot inconsistencies and potential gaps - and fix them.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced scaleup environment, delivering iteratively.
  • Adept at switching between strategy and execution as necessary.
