High Voltage is looking for a Technical UI/UX Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll use your expertise in designing features and UI screens by generating wireframes, documentation, and prototypes. You will work with engineers, artists, and other designers to enhance the quality of our projects and deliver fresh experiences that captivate players. The ideal candidate would have expertise in player-centered design, an understanding of effective game systems, and experience in game UX/UI design.

Here Are Some of the Exciting Responsibilities You’ll Have

  • Work hands-on, in-engine to implement shipping quality UI/UX designs and prove out the team’s ideas with prototypes.
  • Break a feature into clear scoped tasks and identifying risks and dependencies early.
  • Architect scalable, data-driven UI systems that are flexible as designs change.
  • Consider performance and memory budgets, profiling costs of the UI widget and implemented assets.
  • Maintain a unified and consistent user experience across various platforms and screen sizes, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, engineers, and producers to improve the production pipeline through.
  • Improving workflows, supplying documentation, and giving quality feedback to your peers.

  • Minimum one year of User Interface Technical Design experience in the game industry.

  • 1-2 years of experience with Unreal Engine 5 in a design or UI/UX design capacity on production quality professional, academic, or personal projects.

  • Self-motivated and proactive in identifying design and technical issues, with a willingness to seek assistance when necessary.

  • Strong knowledge of UX design and game design processes from concept to completion.

  • Expert with implementation in the Unreal Engine including: UMG, Blueprint Scripting, and motion graphics.

  • Proficiency with Figma, Miro, Axure, InVision, or other prototyping and mockup tools.

  • Familiar with Photoshop/Illustrator or other art tools.

  • Familiar with coding principals including data types, logical operators, functions, and inheritance

  • Technically skilled and capable of working independently in a small team environment as part of a larger team.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others.

  • Passion for video games.

  • English proficiency: B2 or higher required

Bonus points

  • Experience working on multiplayer games and Live Service titles
  • Shipped game credits and a personal portfolio for review
  • Familiarity with multiple areas of UX development including: HUD, menus, and frontend
  • Additional Unreal Engine 5 experience including: ViewModels (or equivalent), materials, C++
  • Experience with other game engines such as Unity, Godot, and proprietary game engines

Salary range: $30k to $35k MXN (gross) per month
