Here is what surprised us when we checked every live Woody listing that mentions the Netherlands this week. We found 13. Twelve are fully remote, one is hybrid, and none is an onsite office job. Only one is pinned to a Dutch city at all, a hybrid role at Qonto in Amsterdam. Everything else is an EU or Europe-wide remote role that happens to accept candidates living in the Netherlands.
So the honest picture is this. The Netherlands is a great place to live and work as a designer, but on Woody it behaves less like Berlin or London and more like a base camp for European remote work.
Where the product design jobs are
The Dutch tech scene is concentrated in the Randstad. According to Techleap's State of Dutch Tech 2026 report, as summarised by I amsterdam, the country has over 11,000 active tech companies and its startups raised about 2.64 billion euros in venture capital in 2025. North and South Holland together take more than 70 percent of that money. The report also notes that the number of deals fell even as total capital rose, which means early-stage rounds are harder to get.
On the employer side, the names designers know are Booking.com, Uber, Adyen, Miro and Databricks. A recruitment firm analysis puts Adyen at around 1,800 engineering employees in Amsterdam, Picnic at about 1,200 and Miro at about 400, while Just Eat Takeaway.com and Bird have shrunk since 2021. Treat those headcounts as estimates, but the direction is clear: growth is in fintech, enterprise SaaS and AI, and the old consumer giants are trimming.
Who is hiring on Woody
These are the real companies behind the live Netherlands-tagged roles we found. Click through for their open jobs.
- Qonto is the only one with a Dutch office role, a hybrid Staff Product Marketing Manager job in Amsterdam for the Netherlands market. The European fintech has 26 live jobs on Woody.
- ElevenLabs is hiring an Enterprise Product Manager for ElevenCreative, remote across the Netherlands, the UK, Poland and the US.
- Maze, the UX research platform, has a remote Product Lead role open to the Netherlands, UK, Ireland, Spain and Portugal.
- Hostaway listed a Senior Product Designer role, 100 percent remote across EMEA, including the Netherlands.
- Sama is looking for a mid-level Product Designer on a freelance contract, remote across the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Portugal.
- Stravito wants a Web Designer on a six-month remote contract.
- RoomPriceGenie is hiring a Senior Brand Designer and Systems Lead, remote across seven European countries.
- Xsolla has a remote Product Owner role open in more than a dozen countries including the Netherlands.
Notice the shape of the list. Product management, brand and contract design roles dominate. A permanent, Netherlands-eligible senior product designer role is rare right now, which is useful to know before you plan around it.

Salaries
What Woody listings show. Only a few of the 13 roles publish a pay band, and Woody records them in US dollars. The ones we can see: Maze's Product Lead and Xsolla's Product Owner are both tagged $100k to $150k. RoomPriceGenie's Senior Brand Designer is tagged $50k to $80k. A Senior Graphic Designer role from Soar With Us sits under $50k. Beyond the Netherlands tag, pan-European remote product design roles on Woody run higher, for example Scarlet's mid-level Product Designer at $100k to $150k. Small sample, so read these as signals, not a market average.
What public benchmarks say. These are third-party estimates, not Woody data. Jobrise's 2026 Amsterdam guide estimates, in annual euros:
- Junior UX designer: 36k to 48k
- Mid-level: 50k to 70k
- Senior: 70k to 95k
- Lead product designer: 90k to 120k
- Principal: 110k to 140k
It also estimates total compensation for a senior product designer at a major tech company at 95k to 140k euros, including bonus or equity. The same recruiter-style sources suggest Amsterdam pays more than Berlin on gross salary, but check any single figure against live offers.
Remote work and visas
Remote is the main story here. Twelve of 13 live Netherlands-tagged roles on Woody are remote, but read the fine print. Most are geo-fenced to the EU, EMEA or a short list of countries, so being legally based in the Netherlands is the real requirement, not just a time zone.
If you are not an EU citizen, the usual route is the highly skilled migrant permit, which needs a recognised employer sponsor. For 2026, the gross monthly salary thresholds, excluding the 8 percent holiday allowance, are 5,942 euros for people aged 30 and over, 4,357 euros under 30, and 3,122 euros for recent graduates. EU Blue Card holders face the same 5,942 euro threshold.
Many newcomers also qualify for the 30 percent ruling, a tax-free allowance. According to the Dutch government's business portal, it stays at 30 percent through 2026 and falls to 27 percent from 1 January 2027, with a higher income standard of 50,436 euros. Check your own case with an adviser, because transitional rules apply.
How to break in
- Aim at the Europe-wide remote pool, not just Amsterdam. Set your alert to the Netherlands and to remote so roles tagged for neighbouring countries still reach you.
- Lean into fintech, B2B SaaS and AI. That is where the Woody listings and the Dutch funding are.
- Be open to a contract first. Sama and Stravito both advertise contract design roles, and contracts are a common way into a European team.
- Show product thinking, not only visuals. Several roles here are hybrids of design, product and brand.
- If you need sponsorship, say so early and target companies already hiring across borders, like ElevenLabs, Maze and Hostaway.
