Dandy Careers 2026: Remote Design Jobs Where Your Product Ships as a Physical Crown

Last updated: October 2026

Most product designers never find out whether the thing they drew actually fits. At Dandy, you find out in about three days, when a crown designed through software your team shipped gets cemented into someone's molar.

Dandy is a fully digital dental lab, and one of the most consistent remote design employers we track. Woody has published 11 Dandy roles since 2024, nine in design, product or brand, every one remote. Here is what those listings reveal, and what the public record adds.

What Dandy actually does

Dandy sits between the dentist's chair and the manufacturing floor. A practice signs up, Dandy hands over an intraoral scanner at no cost against a monthly lab minimum, the dentist scans a prepped tooth, and Dandy designs and mills the restoration in its own US labs.

Founded in New York in 2020, the company has raised roughly $250 million, with the 2023 Series C reportedly valuing it near $1.8 billion according to Tracxn. Trackers disagree, some reporting closer to $120 million, so treat it as a range. Headcount sits near 1,900, more than 6,000 practices use Dandy, and the company says over two million people already have a Dandy product in their mouth.

The last eighteen months explain the hiring. In October 2025 Dandy launched the Dandy Vision intraoral scanner, trained on more than 10 million scans and claimed to scan 24.9% faster than leading scanners (GlobeNewswire). Weeks later it shipped AI Scan Review, which flags undercuts, margin obstructions and occlusal clearance problems while the patient is still in the chair, a single feature Dandy credits with cutting average remakes by 89% (Dentistry Today). It acquired practice management software company Neem in January 2026, and in July hired Dmitri Krakovsky, previously Chief Product Officer at Docusign and VP of Products for Google Cloud Platform, as Head of Product, owning both software and hardware (GlobeNewswire). A $42.8 million, 258,000 square foot production facility in Indianapolis is slated to open this year (Indianapolis Business Journal).

So Dandy is a software platform, a hardware manufacturer and a factory at once, which is the whole reason its design jobs look different.

What the Woody listings show

This is the part no careers page will give you. Across the 11 Dandy roles Woody has published:

Nine sat in design, product or brand. Four were product design, three were product management, two were brand design.

Every listing with a work mode attached was tagged Remote. Not one hybrid, not one onsite, despite the New York headquarters and the physical labs.

Pay skews high. Of the nine Dandy roles with a salary band, four were tagged above $200k and four landed in $150k to $200k. Only one fell below $150k.

Dandy hires design managers unusually often. Four of the 11 were leadership titles: Head of Design, Manager of Product Design, Senior Manager of Product Design for Clinical Experience and Growth, and the newest, Senior Manager, Visual Design, posted this week at $150k to $200k.

One quiet signal: that newest role is tagged Canada, not the United States, while almost every earlier Dandy listing was US-only. If you are a senior designer in Toronto or Vancouver who keeps watching American remote roles get geo-fenced away from you, that is a door opening.

The reason these jobs are strange in a good way

Read Dandy's Senior Product Manager, Design Systems posting and you hit the twist. At most companies, "design systems" means components, tokens and a Figma library. At Dandy it means the CAD software dental designers use to model restorations, and the job is to productize that internal tool into something a dentist can actually use. The listing asks for dental, MedTech or high-end "pro-sumer" creative tool experience, plus a real understanding of how ML models get deployed.

That is the shape of most design work here. Your users are clinicians under time pressure and lab technicians working at volume, your interface sits on computer vision and generative geometry, and the output either seats correctly or does not. Very few design jobs give you a signal that unambiguous.

Culture and the honest caveats

Dandy's careers page leans on flexibility, trust and the size of the prize, a $400 billion global dental industry that still runs on couriers and plaster. The practical reality, going by the Woody data, is remote-first for design and software, with a New York office for those who want it and heavily onsite manufacturing.

Two things deserve a straight answer. Reviews on Indeed are mixed, praising benefits, pace and teammates while some former designers report management churn. And Dandy announced a workforce reduction in June 2026 estimated at 50 to 150 people. This is a growth-and-restructure cycle, not a steady state. Ask about team stability in your first call, and treat a vague answer as data.

The hiring process

Dandy has not published a design interview loop. Candidate reports on Glassdoor and Indeed describe a process that is thorough but fast, typically two to three interviews inside roughly two weeks, starting with a recruiter screen. Expect a portfolio walkthrough plus cross-functional conversations, and come ready to talk about constraints you did not control. Manufacturing tolerance and clinical workflow shape what ships here.

Salaries

Two sources, kept separate on purpose. Woody bands show what Dandy advertised: $150k to $200k for most design and product roles, above $200k for senior PM and leadership, one mid-level brand role at $100k to $150k.

Public data adds equity and bonus. Levels.fyi puts median total compensation for a Dandy product manager at about $220k, with an average near $308k and a reported high of $565k. Glassdoor lists senior product designer base pay averaging around $199,800. The gap is mostly equity, so negotiate the whole package, not the base.

Worth applying?

Apply if you want your design decisions validated by physics rather than a dashboard, and if you would rather build for dentists than for other designers. Be more careful if you need organizational stability above all else.
