Responsibilities
- Own the Ledger roadmap: Drive strategy and execution for Mercury's Double Entry Ledger (DEL)βthe financial system of record.
- Drive org-wide ledger adoption: Partner with payment rails teams to enable their flows on the ledger platform, ensuring event-to-ledger integration is clean, correct, and scalable.
- Build next generation financial infrastructure: Own the implementation of our financial processes across charts of accounts, transfer code definitions, and GL mapping frameworks that connect to our core systems of record.
- Partner with Finance and Accounting: Translate accounting requirements into product architecture, and vice versa, ensuring alignment on GL mappings, posting accuracy, and financial reporting pipelines.
- Set the financial data standard: Define what clean, reconcilable financial data looks like at Mercury.
- Navigate a complex, high-stakes stakeholder environment: Coordinate across banking platform teams, payment rails teams, Finance, Compliance, Risk.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product management experience in fintech, financial services, or platform/infrastructure product roles.
- Real technical fluency: engage credibly with engineers on event-sourced architectures and double-entry accounting data models.
- Background in accounting, finance, or banking operations.
- Experience building and scaling internal platform products with broad adoption requirements.
- A highly structured, data-driven approach to product decisions.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication skills.
