Job Overview
As a UX Designer with Smoking Gun Interactive(SGI), you will focus on creating intuitive, engaging,and seamless experiences for players.
**Whilst this position is being offered on a remote basis, we are only able to consider applicants who are currently located within the greater Vancouver area*
In this role, you will
- Create wireframes, prototypes,and visual designs that communicate the user experienceand functionality of our games
- Design and iterate on game mechanics, player flows,and user interfaces
- Conduct user research to understand playerβs needsand preferences
- Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedbackand data-driven insights
- Work closely with game developers to ensure the user experience is implemented to a high standard
- Collaborate with product managersand stakeholders to understand business goalsand player feedback
- Help establish and maintain design standards for the studio
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies,and emerging design patterns
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have
- 3+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designerin the game industry;
- A strong portfolio with at least one shipped mobileand PC game title (portfolio must submit to be considered);
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figmaand prototyping tools;
- Experience with user research, A/B testing, feedback loopsand data analysis;
- Strong knowledge of game development, game design principlesand developing interactive interfacesin game engine;
- Ability to work collaborativelyin a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent communication, presentation,and interpersonal skills;
- Bachelorβs degree in user experience, graphic designor related field.
It would also be great if you had experience with:
- User research, usability testing,and data analysisbut must also be effective when these materials are not available
- A generalist game design background

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 CAD
