Juniper Square Careers 2026: Remote Design Jobs Where Your Prototype Is the Handoff

Last updated: October 2026

Most design jobs end at handoff. You polish the Figma file, write the spec, tag an engineer, and hope the thing that ships resembles the thing you drew. Juniper Square is one of the few companies openly rebuilding that step, and it hires designers on the assumption that the prototype itself becomes the starting point engineers and AI agents build from.

That is a strange thing to find on a fintech org chart. Juniper Square sells software to private equity funds, venture firms and real estate sponsors, not where you expect the most forward-looking design operation on the board this month. It also raised $130 million in June 2025 at a $1.1 billion valuation and has been pushing AI agents into a conservative industry ever since.

What Juniper Square does

Juniper Square builds the operating system for private markets. Its customers are general partners, the people who raise and run funds, and the platform handles the unglamorous machinery: investor onboarding, capital calls, LP reporting, fund accounting and fund administration.

The scale is what makes the design problem interesting. As of July 2026 it serves more than 2,300 GPs and oversees more than $300 billion in assets under administration, up from $250 billion in January, across roughly 40,000 funds and 700,000 LP accounts (PR Newswire). Revenue was reported at $108 million around the Series D (Bloomberg), and headcount is above 1,100.

The 2026 story is agents. JunieAI is the company's agentic AI framework, and in July 2026 it shipped the first named agent built on it: Fay, which reviews every deliverable a fund administrator produces. Fay runs more than 150 accuracy and consistency checks across financial and capital account statements, mixing pattern recognition with deterministic code for the maths, and claims to cut review time by roughly 80 percent. A month earlier the platform opened up as Headless GPX so outside AI agents can work against its fund data, and in April 2026 it acquired Sightglass, an AI-native due diligence questionnaire startup (Juniper Square).

So the brief is not "make the dashboard nicer." It is: what does a fund CFO's screen look like when an agent has done the first pass and the human job is exception handling and judgement.

What Woody's listings show

This is the part that is not on the careers page. Across the Juniper Square roles posted on Woody over the past eight months, four patterns stand out.

Everything is senior. The four product and design roles are a Senior Product Designer, a Senior Product Manager for Private Credit, a Senior Product Marketing Manager for Fund Administration, and a Senior Product Manager, Technical for API and Integrations. No junior seats, no associate PM track.

It is remote, but geo-fenced. Three of the four are tagged Remote, one Hybrid. All are scoped to the United States, two also open to Canada. None are open to Europe, even though Juniper Square has staff in Luxembourg, England and India. If you are a designer in Lisbon or Berlin, this is not your company yet, and that is worth knowing before you spend an evening on the application.

The roles follow the money. Private credit, fund administration, APIs and integrations. These are the three places private markets software is actually growing in 2026, so the titles track business expansion rather than generic platform work.

The design band sits well above the public data. The live Senior Product Designer role is banded $150k to $200k on Woody. Levels.fyi puts Product Designer total compensation at Juniper Square between $101k and $144k, median $101,250, as of January 2026 (Levels.fyi). That gap is the signal: the public data reflects earlier, more junior hires, and the money today is going to senior ICs.

What it is like to work there

Juniper Square went digital-first in 2021 and was unusually literal about it, reorganising into three hubs: San Francisco, Austin, and a third it calls the Cloud, treated as a real location rather than an exception (Juniper Square). Teams span 27 US states, two Canadian provinces, India, Luxembourg and England.

On Glassdoor the company carries 4.0 out of 5 from 218 reviews, with 81 percent saying they would recommend it, 3.9 for compensation and 3.8 for work-life balance (Glassdoor). Reviewers praise the pay, the people and the unlimited PTO. The recurring complaint is unclear ownership between teams and after-hours Slack expectations. Read that as a company growing faster than its structure, which is normal at 1,100 people and worth asking about directly.

The design-specific detail is the most useful thing to know. Juniper Square's design engineering roles explicitly own the AI enablement strategy for design-to-engineering, with posts naming Cursor, Claude Code and v0.dev as expected tools and asking for opinions formed from direct experience on how AI changes team-level workflows. The stated goal is that designer-made prototypes become structured starting points engineers and agents can build from without rework. If you believe the handoff model is dying, that mandate is rare to find written down.

The hiring process

There is no published design-specific loop, so the honest answer comes from candidate reports. Across 90 Glassdoor interviews the process averages 29 days, difficulty rates 2.87 out of 5, and 48.9 percent describe it as positive. The usual shape is a recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation, a skills or presentation round, then a panel (Glassdoor).

For design, expect the presentation round to be a portfolio walkthrough. Bring work where you made a complex, data-heavy workflow legible to a professional accountable for the output. Consumer polish will not carry you here. The person on the other side of the screen is a fund controller who gets audited.

Salaries

From live Woody listings: Senior Product Designer at $150k to $200k, Senior Product Manager, Private Credit at $150k to $200k, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Fund Administration at $100k to $150k. Design engineering roles have been advertised publicly in the $170k to $210k range.

From public aggregators: Levels.fyi reports $101k to $144k for Product Designer, median $101,250. The practical read is that senior roles now sit in the $150k plus band, and the lower public figures are a lagging indicator rather than a ceiling to negotiate from.

Should you apply

Apply if you want a hard, specific problem rather than a famous logo. You will not get the dopamine of a consumer app. You will get users who notice every detail because their job depends on it.

Can I work for Juniper Square from Europe? Not through the roles currently on Woody. Every live listing is scoped to the United States, with two also open to Canada, even though the company has staff in Luxembourg, England and India.

What does a Senior Product Designer earn at Juniper Square? The live Woody listing is banded $150k to $200k. Levels.fyi reports a lower median of $101,250, reflecting earlier and more junior hires.

How long is the Juniper Square interview process? About 29 days on average across 90 Glassdoor reports: a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, a presentation or skills round, then a panel.
